Alex McGee is a composer and conductor from Pembrokeshire, Wales. A member of numerous brass bands since his youth, he trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and Cardiff University, where he was appointed principal trumpet of the Cardiff University Symphony Orchestra.

It was while at Cardiff that he signed for Burry Port Brass Band just before they qualified for their first ever National Brass Band Championships final at the Royal Albert Hall.

As a composer, Alex has over 30 works published, predominantly for brass band. Recent commissions include 'Y Barchud Coch' (The Red Kite) which premiered on national television at the 2022 National Eisteddfod, numerous other works for first and championship section brass bands and a major commission from the town of his brith, Haverfordwest, to celebrate the history of the town in a new cantata for youth choir, youth orchestra and brass band.
